Located on the spectacular Causeway Coast in Northern Ireland, Royal Portrush Golf Club boasts two superb links courses, the Valley Links and the renowned Dunluce Links. Obviously you will want to play the Dunluce Links but the Valley is a more than worthy sibling and is worth playing in its own right or as part of a 36-hole day.

Designer(s):
Des Giffin

Located on the same stretch of coastline as the world-renowned links of Royal Portrush, Portstewart Golf Club boasts a magnificent setting on the famous Causeway Coast. The golf club offers 54 holes of links golf but it is the Championship Strand Course that is the jewel in the crown.

Designer(s):
Ben Sayers & Harry Colt

Situated on the Causeway coast and only a 20 minute drive from both Royal Portrush and Portstewart, the Championship Mussenden Course at Castlerock Golf Club is a more than worthy neighbour to both of these iconic links courses of Ireland. Designed and laid out in the existing nature, the course features tough doglegs, sloped fairways and tricky greens which often have several plateaus. Fairways winds between the railroad and the sea and the surroundings are second to none.

Designer(s):
Pat Ruddy and Tom Craddock

Designed around imposing dunes, the Glashedy Links at the world-famous Ballyliffin Golf Club has earned notoriety for its devilish bunkers and huge rolling greens, but also for its captivating mountain and ocean views. Unlike its sibling Old Links, Glashedy is laid out up in the wild a bit further inland and is devoid of any “weak holes”. Having hosted the North West of Ireland Open in 2002, Ladies Irish Open in 1998 and more recently, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in 2018, it is a true test of championship links golf.

Designer(s):
Pat Ruddy

Portsalon Golf Links was established in 1891, making it one of nine founding members of the Golfing Union of Ireland, the oldest golfing union in the world. This gem of Irish golf holds a lasting memory for every golfer of a truly outstanding golf links. Unspoiled, uncrowded, natural links land, surrounded by the spectacular Knockalla mountains and the beautiful white sanded beaches of Portsalon on the shores of Lough Swilly.

Designer(s):
Eddie Hackett

Located beside the quaint seaside town of the same name, Enniscrone is often neglected while discussing the great links courses of Ireland. A grave mistake that is realized right from the opening approach, as you make through endless dips and hollows to ultimately emerge from valleys that reveal striking views of Killala Bay, Bartra Island and the Ox Mountains.

Designer(s):
Eddie Hackett

Carne is a 18 hole links course on one of the most westerly points in Ireland. The beautiful location at Belmullet, County Mayo on the west coast of Ireland, facing the wild Atlantic and overlooking the Blacksod Bay, make this course something special. This paradise is set amidst the unspoiled nature, surrounded by an extensive dune landscape that nature has shaped over millennia. Carne Golf Links has been called nature's gift for the golfer.

Designer(s):
Eddie Hackett

Similar to County Sligo, Donegal Golf Club is the ideal golfing stop en-route from Northern Ireland or Ballyliffin to the great links courses of the Irish Northwest. Measuring over 7,000 yards from the medal tees, Donegal was designed by Eddie Hackett and officially opened for play in 1976 although the layout has undergone considerable alterations since, most of which have been carried out under the direction of Pat Ruddy.
