Bass Strait Golf Classic
June 9 11 2006
Is this the hardest golf course in the world?
Flinders golf club is holding their weekend of golf championships and it is open to all golfers with registered handicaps. The course is a Par 71 5316 meter course that has only been parred once in its history.
The layout undulates over grass-covered dunes, through scrub so thick that the wallabies have made their own permanent tracks to get from tee to tee. The course uses the same nine holes twice with different tee positions.
There is a wide variety of accommodation available on the island that can be booked through Gimme Golf as well as 4Wd, walking or fishing trips that give this tournament a unique feel.
Flights are operated by Airlines of Tasmania out of Moorabbin for access to the Island
